One of the hottest shows returning to Broadway is Six. Not only because of the fabulous singing but because it represents the new Broadway….one that is reflective of what you hear on the radio.
Whether you are preparing for auditions or are working on your own pop stylings, you need an ear that can deconstruct what you are hearing and a vocal tool belt to help you put it back together.
Each Queen was modeled after a different pop diva (Beyoncé, Lily Allen, Adele/Sia, Nikki Minaj/Rihanna, Ariana Grande/Britney Spears, and Alicia Keys.) That means matter which Queen you choose to explore, you’ll be improving your pop/chops.
By the end of the workshop, you will:
1. Be able to identify and break down pop sounds so that when that casting or music director says 'I’m looking for an insert famous pop star sound', you know exactly what they mean.
2. Learn specific tools that will help you be able to confidently recreate that sound on the spot!
3. Learn how to use these tools to increase your vocal versatility (and castability). Be the singer the singer that can sing Six one night and Smokey Joe’s the next!
The workshop is $49 and will be held on Saturday, August 14th @ 11:00am & Thursday, August 26th at 7:30pm and will be recorded for playback if you can’t attend live.
